We extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the Mrs. Otitoju Oladunni during this difficult time. Any loss of life is deeply painful, and our thoughts and prayers remain with the family.
However, we wish to clearly state that the allegations/statements being circulated on the social media by one Akin Olaoye that the Redeemer’s Health Centre, Ibadan caused or was responsible for the death of Mrs. Otitoju are untrue, false, misleading and malicious.
The said Akin Olaoye does not have the accurate knowledge of the medical facts hence, his claims that our hospital was responsible for the death of Mrs. Otitoju is an attempt to destroy the good name of our multispecialty hospital and the integrity of our services. For example, the patient presented due to a severe illness and not for "routine blood test". More so, our facility does not admit patients for "routine blood tests".
In line with data protection laws and the duty of confidentiality owed by medical professionals to patients, we are at this point unable to disclose details surrounding Mrs. Otitoju's care or passing.
Consequently, we encourage anyone with concerns or grievances to please channel them through the appropriate lawful and regulatory authorities where they can be properly reviewed.
While our legal team is reviewing the matter, we request that the false information published about our hospital on any social media platforms be retracted immediately. Failure to do so will leave us with no option but to seek appropriate legal redress to protect our reputation and the integrity of our services.
Signed
